Photoshop CC
Photoshop CC (14.0) was released on June
18, 2013. As the next major release after CS6, it is only available as part of
a subscription to Creative Cloud,
whose full version costs $49 each month. The main features of this version
include Smart Sharpen, Intelligent
Upsampling and Camera Shake
Reduction to reduce the blurring caused by camera shake. Editable rounded
rectangles and an Adobe Camera Raw
(8.0) update were also included.
Since
the initial release, Adobe has
released two additional feature updates. The first, version 14.1, was released
on September 9, 2013. The main features of this version were Adobe Generator, a platform based on
Node.js to create add-ons for Photoshop.
Photoshop 14.1 comes with two add-ons, one to automatically generate
image elements based on one extension in the layer name and another to
automatically generate assets for Adobe
Edge Reflow.
Version 14.2 was released on January 15,
2014. The main features include Warp Perspective, linked intelligent objects
and 3D printing support.
Photoshop CC 2014
Photoshop CC 2014 (15.0) was released on June
18, 2014. CC 2014 includes several improvements in content-aware tools, two new blur
tools (blurring and defocusing of route) and a new mask function Focus that
allows the user to select parts of an image depending on whether they are in
focus or not. Other minor improvements have been made, such as increased speed
for certain tasks.
Photoshop CC 2015
Photoshop CC 2015 was released on June 15,
2015. Adobe added several creative features, including Adobe Stock, which is a library of custom images. It also includes and has the ability to have more
than one layer style. For example, in previous versions of Photoshop, only one shadow could be used for a CC layer
but in 2015, up to ten are available. Other minor features such as Export as,
what is a form of Save for Web in CC were also added in 2014. The updated user
interface as of November 30, 2015 offers a cleaner and more consistent look
throughout Photoshop, and common tasks can be quickly performed using a new set
of gestures on touch devices such as Microsoft
Surface Pro. CC 2015 also marks the 25th anniversary of Photoshop.
Photoshop CC 2017
Photoshop CC 2017 was introduced on November
2, 2016. A new template selector was introduced when creating new documents,
the ability to search tools, panels and help articles for Photoshop, support
for OpenType SVG fonts and other small improvements. In December 2016, a minor
update was released to include touch bar support for the MacBook Pro. In 2016, Amr El-Shamy, an Egyptian artist made an art
Photoshop called "fall" that was chosen as the presentation screen
for the program.
Photoshop Touch
Photoshop
Touch was an application designed specifically for tablets and touch screen
devices. Many features of the personal computer version are included, including
layers, selection tools, settings and filters. Edited files could be
synchronized with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Photoshop Touch was available on iOS and Android. There were two IOS
versions-one designed for the iPad and the other for the iPhone and iPod touch;
both iOS required 5.0 or later. Versions
of Android can be installed on any Android phone (4.0 and higher) and
tablets (3.1 and up). Since then, it has been discontinued.
